Linchpin – Seth Godin
Seth Godin is perhaps my favourite marketer as he is an author that truly understood how to be a linchpin. Indeed in his book he mentions that becoming a linchpin is the only way to create the life you always dreamt of. It is the way to become indispensable, become an artist and stand out from the crowd. If you are ready to become remarkable and create your own map, this book it the only thing you will need.

The 4 Hour Work Week – Timothy Ferriss
Tim Ferriss is the one and only creator of lifestyle design, mixing elements such as automated income, location independence and world travel. If you are looking for a way to work smarter, not harder, if you have other ambitions then just work and if you are looking for the perfect lifestyle, the 4 hour work week is the bible. Be aware, this book is not for everyone, as the world of the new rich has endless possibilities.

Rework – Jason Fried & David Heinemeir Hansson
Rework is the latest book from the guys at 37 signals. This company is mostly known for its online project management software, Basecamp. A tool, which I can strongly recommend, having been using it for years. Rework is about how you need to forever change the way you work. It is now time to change your habits and adopt the concepts that are making a difference.

Funky Business Forever
Funky Business Forever is a book written by two Swedish academics Jonas Ridderstrale & Kjell Nordstrom. Those authors decided to put the fun and the funk back into business in order to enjoy capitalism. They give us a good overview of their opinions not only about business and the economy but on such topics as politic, technology, the environment and talent. I really enjoyed the way the book is structure into Funky Times, Forces of Funk, Funky Village, Funky Inc, Funky U and feeling Funky. Their ideas will be provocative and life changing for some, funny for others and hopefully for everyone they will make you think.

The Power of Less
The Power of Less is one of the books published by Leo Babauta’s, the author of the famous blog Zen habits. In his book he demonstrates why less is powerful and how in the western societies we already have more then we need compared to the rest of the world. Leo is our guide to discover the things that really matter and just leave out the rest. His book is divided between a principles part and another practical one, which will help you apply the concept as soon as you completed the book.

The Biology of Belief
The Biology of Belief is one of the latest books I’ve read that truly changed my beliefs. This book is about the field of new biology where they expose the relation between your beliefs and your biology and how to unleash the power of consciousness. The author Bruce H. Lipton is not a self help or success guru but a scientist and a medical school professor with a Ph.D. in Biology which makes the book even more compelling. Along his career he has studied cellular biology and how those process information and his results are just astonishing. To reveal only one of his secrets, you are the only master of you life and not your biology or DNA.

Outliers
Outlier is the Story of success by one of my favourite authors Malcom Gladwell. I just love the way this writer journalist tells his stories as even though most of his literature is based on facts it feels as it is written as a fiction. In his book he demonstrates why some achieve so much compare to others. He analyses those outliers and try to reveal those secrets. He proposes answers such as the 10 000 hours rule and the importance of where you are from. It turns out the great hockey players, the Beatles and the Bill Gates have much more in common then expected.

7 habits of highly effective people
7 habits of highly effective people is one of the most known success and self development book out there. Even tough it has now a couple of years it is still relevant in today’s world. The author Stephen Covey proposes a holistic and principle centred approach to any personal and professional issues. His step by step approach will teach how to first be a winner in your private life by being proactive, result oriented and effective and only then succeed in public with a win/win, listening and synergistic approach. This book was a great inspiration for myself and so many others and therefore strongly recommend it if you want to improve life.

I can make you rich
I can make you rich is a bestseller from one of the most renown NLP author in the UK, Paul McKenna. He divides his book into the psychology of wealth and a more practical approach to how to make money. In the first part he explains the success is an inside job, how you are already rich and how to tap into the flow of wealth and create a rich vision. In the second part he gives practical advice on making a business plan, assembling your team and finally the secrets of living rich.

Think and grow rich
Think and grow rich is the Bible of the art and science of success. It was one of the first self improvement book that I’ve read back when I was on little retirement on a sail boat in the Caribbean’s. I don’t know if the environment had an impact but that is when my love with the success literature started. The author Napoleon Hill spent more then 20 years researching the most famous and powerful people of his time including Ford, Carnegie, Rockefeller and Bell, in order to give us the principles you need to follow to make you dreams a reality. The more and more I read self help literature the more I realise that most of the concept are taken from this masterpiece.

The Mind Map Book
The Mind Map Book has a huge influence on the way I understand, remember and create notes. The authors Tony and Barry Buzan created a new way to visualize information on paper similar to the way you brain works. Mind Maps, also called “the Swiss army knife of the brain” will help you gain control of your life, improve your thinking skills, memory and creativity.

Unlimited Power
Unlimited Power is one of the most powerful and well known self-help books by one of my favourite author and motivational speaker, Anthony Robbins. The first edition was release in 1987, when Tony was only 25 years old and he claims that the first draft was written in only one month. In his first book, Robbins shows us the way to use our mind more effectively to achieve specific goals and success. He puts a lot of emphasis on Neuro-Linguistic-Programming (NLP) methods and writes about different self help topics including health and energy, how to overcome fears, persuasive communication, and bettering your relationships.
Another book that I recommend from Tony is Awaken the giant within.

The Magic of Thinking Big
The Magic of Thinking Big is a book that was first suggested by Tim Ferris. The author David Schwartz claims that one of the biggest differences in your life and in business will be the quality of your thoughts. You need to be confident in your own possibilities, not overestimate the others and under estimate yourself. If you believe you are the best with conviction, you already are.

The Tipping Point
The Tipping Point is the second book on the list from Malcom Gladwell. I read so for all of his books and loved his style and what he is saying. In this book he shows us how sometimes little things can make a huge difference. He analyses the tipping point, the moment when trends, behaviours and ideas cross a threshold and spread like wildfire.

How to get Rich – Felix Dennis
This is a non-bullshit approach to the riches from one of the wealthiest self made entrepreneurs. Through Felix life stories, he will show us how he made it, a journey not for everyone as littered with pitfalls and obstacles. He wrote this book on the Moustique Island in the Caribbean’s where he has the chance to spend with people that he loves the most. Felix admits that being rich it’s not really about the money but about having the time to do things that matters most.

The Alchemist
The Alchemist is perhaps the only non fiction book in the list, but is definitely worth having a go as it had plenty of insight on life and how to best live it. Paulo Coelho is the master of storytelling and will guide you through the journey of one little boy in search of a wonderful treasure. But sometimes in life the biggest treasures are right in front of you and you just need to open you eyes.
